Where once a Methodist and later a Jewish congregation worshiped and came to listen to an Elder and later a Rabbi, people will now come and see performances by actors and dancers in @towertheatre. Brilliant space. Amazing to see the new incarnation of this unique building.
Contemplating preparing a talk for February titled “Rock n’ Roll Stoke Newington: The music heritage of Stoke Newington” so many musicians that have either lived or performed in SN, recording studios, music venues. Keeping it down to 25min is going to be a real challenge!
RT @highamnews: This is fascinating: connections with a well-known actor, two violent deaths, one a notorious Cold War “incident”... https:…
@Huriye They made it to the presentation :) that’s only the cover with a sample of the talk’s content. It’s only 25min (as there are 3 talks in total) so it cannot include every musician that’s somehow associated with Stoke Newington :)
@LynRennick @Huriye part of what? they were mentioned in the talk. It was only 25min and there’s a limit to what can be covered. It wasn’t a talk about musicians who lived in SN.
@Huriye @LynRennick Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean. Disinterested? Based on what? The talk in the event was given by one person who had 25min. You could spend a day talking about musicians that are somehow connected with Stoke Newington :)
